First Creek

First Creek, located in central Washington near the Wenatchee area, is a well-known rockhounding site that produces a variety of agate nodules and thunderegg-like formations. While not a classic thunderegg bed in the traditional rhyolitic sense, the area yields rounded nodules with agate, jasper, and occasional quartz interiors. Colors range from soft grays and whites to reds and browns, often with mossy or plume-like inclusions. These specimens are typically found in streambeds and eroded slopes, weathered out of volcanic rock layers. First Creek material is popular among Washington collectors for its variety, polishability, and scenic collecting environment.
