Buchanan Ranch

The Buchanan Ranch in Harney County, Oregon, is a classic thunderegg locality known for producing large, solid nodules with richly colored agate interiors. Eggs from this site often feature deep reds, golden browns, and occasional pockets of quartz or plume-like inclusions. The rhyolite matrix tends to be dense and rugged, making these eggs durable and excellent for cutting.
